What This Site Is — And What It Isn’t
unicodetokrutidev.co is a free online tool. Its purpose is specific and narrow — converting Hindi text between Unicode and Kruti Dev font formats, and converting Kruti Dev text back into Unicode. That is everything this site is designed to do.
It is not a professional typesetting service. It is not a certified language processing platform. It is not a substitute for a trained DTP professional when your work genuinely requires one. It is not affiliated with the creators of the Kruti Dev font, with any government body, or with any institution that certifies or standardises Hindi typography.
We are a small independent team that built a useful tool and made it freely available. That is the full extent of what we are. We think being clear about that is more respectful than pretending to be something larger or more official than we actually are.
The Converter — Honest About Accuracy
We’ve put real work into making the converter as accurate as possible. The character mapping has been tested across a wide range of real documents — government circulars, newspaper content, DTP layouts, examination papers, general Hindi text of all kinds. For the overwhelming majority of standard Hindi content, the conversion is clean and correct.
But Hindi typography is genuinely complex. The Devanagari script has conjunct characters, half-letter forms, nukta variations, and combinations that don’t always follow predictable patterns. Automated conversion handles most of these well. Some edge cases — particularly unusual conjuncts, heavily formatted content, or text that mixes scripts in unconventional ways — may produce output that needs a small manual correction.
We will not tell you the converter is perfect because it isn’t. No automated text conversion tool is. What we can tell you is that it works reliably for standard use, that we continue to improve it based on real-world feedback, and that it performs as well as or better than comparable tools available online.
Before you submit a converted document for anything important — an official government form, a printed publication, an examination submission, a professional client deliverable — read through the output. A quick review before finalising is simply good practice, regardless of which tool you used to prepare the document.
We are not responsible for errors in converted output that make it into final documents without being reviewed. The tool assists your work — it does not replace your judgment.
No Professional Advice Is Given Here
The written content on this site — explanations of Kruti Dev, guides on Unicode, information about Hindi typing, descriptions of how DTP software handles fonts — is educational and informational in nature.
It is not professional typographic advice. It is not legal guidance on document submission requirements. It is not technical certification of any kind. It is not a substitute for consulting a professional when your specific situation genuinely requires expert input.
We know this subject well and we write about it carefully. But knowing a subject well and being a licensed professional in that field are different things. If you are preparing documents for a context where specific technical or legal standards apply — a court submission, a government tender, a regulated publication — verify the requirements of that context independently and don’t rely solely on a general-purpose tool or the information on this website.
External Links — We Don’t Control Where They Go
Our content occasionally references or links to external websites. These might be official documentation pages, reference resources, government portals, or other tools that users might find helpful alongside ours.
When you follow one of those links, you leave unicodetokrutidev.co. We have no control over the content, accuracy, availability, or data practices of external websites. A link from our site is not an endorsement of everything on that site — it’s a pointer to something we thought might be useful at the time the content was written.
External sites change. Pages move or disappear. Content gets updated. We cannot monitor every external link on this site in real time, and we are not responsible for what you find when you follow them. If you encounter a broken or misleading external link on our site, let us know and we’ll review it.
Advertisements Served by Google AdSense
This site may carry advertisements managed through Google AdSense in the future (we update if we use AdSense and get approved, otherwise not). The ads you see are determined by Google’s systems — we do not choose specific advertisers, we do not vet individual ad creatives, and we do not personally endorse any product, service, or company that appears in an advertisement on this site.
We’ve chosen Google AdSense because it is an established, widely used platform with its own content policies that filter out certain categories of harmful or misleading advertising. But no automated system is perfect, and occasionally an ad may appear that doesn’t reflect the standards we’d choose if we were selecting advertisers manually.
If you see an advertisement on this site that appears to be misleading, inappropriate, or fraudulent, please do not act on it. You can report it directly to Google through the feedback option on the ad itself. You can also contact us and we’ll flag it through our AdSense account.
We are not liable for any loss, harm, or inconvenience caused by acting on the content of third-party advertisements served on this site.
Availability — We Aim for Reliability, Not Perfection
We keep this site running as consistently as we can. Hosting infrastructure, domain management, and server maintenance are all attended to. In practice the site is available the vast majority of the time.
But we cannot guarantee 100% uptime. No independently operated website can, honestly. Servers have maintenance windows. Hosting providers occasionally have outages. Unexpected technical issues arise. If the site is down when you need it, we’re sorry for the inconvenience — but we cannot be held responsible for consequences that result from the site being temporarily unavailable.
For anything time-sensitive, it’s worth having a backup option. This applies to every online tool, not just ours.
Your Data and Your Responsibility
The converter processes text that you choose to paste into it. We’ve built it so that this text never leaves your device — the conversion happens locally in your browser and nothing is transmitted to our servers.
That said, you are responsible for what you do with the converted output. If you convert a document and then share the output, publish it, submit it officially, or distribute it in any form, that is your action and your responsibility. We have no visibility into how converted text is used after it leaves the converter and we cannot be held accountable for how you choose to use it.
We’d also note the obvious — please don’t paste sensitive personal data, confidential organisational information, or private content belonging to others into any online tool, ours included, unless you’re confident about how that tool handles data. We’ve been transparent about how ours works. But the decision about what to put into it is always yours.
We Are Independent
unicodetokrutidev.co has no affiliation with the Government of India, any state government, any official Hindi language authority, or any examination board that uses Kruti Dev in its typing tests.
We are not the official source for Kruti Dev fonts. We do not distribute font files. We are not connected to the original creators of the Kruti Dev typeface.
Any reference on this site to government typing exams, official document formats, or DTP software is purely informational — describing how those systems work and why our tool is relevant to them. It does not imply any official relationship or endorsement.
Changes to This Disclaimer
If something changes about how this site operates — a new feature, a change in the services we use, an update to how the converter works — we’ll update this page to reflect that. The date at the top of this page always shows when it was last revised.
We don’t make changes silently. Whatever this page says right now is what applies right now.
Reach Us Directly
If something in this disclaimer raises a question for you — or if you’ve encountered something on this site that you think contradicts what’s written here — contact us. Our email is contact@unicodetokrutidev.co and our Contact page is always open.
We’d rather have an honest conversation about a concern than have someone leave with a wrong impression of how this site works.
The Honest Summary
We built a free tool to solve a real problem. It works well for standard use. It is not perfect and we won’t pretend otherwise. Your text never reaches our servers. Ads are served by Google, not chosen by us. External links lead to places we don’t control. Nothing on this site constitutes professional advice. Use the output sensibly and review it before it matters.
That is what this site is. Nothing more, nothing exaggerated.
