Pokemon Quest Recipes: All 18 Dishes and Exact Ingredients

Pokemon Quest Recipes

Pokemon Quest recipes use a point system rather than a fixed recipe book. Every dish uses five ingredient slots, and the total points of those five ingredients decide the quality, the cook time, and how rare your Pokemon will be. This guide lists all 18 dishes, all 10 ingredients, every pot level, and the simple rule that lets you cook any dish on demand.

The Rule Most Guides Skip

Cooking in Pokémon Quest has three parts. Once you understand all three, you never need a recipe list again.

  1. Five slots: Every dish uses exactly five ingredients.
  2. Type and colour decide which dish you get: Put in mostly red ingredients and you get Red Stew. Put in mostly mushrooms, and you get Sludge Soup.
  3. Points decide the quality: Each ingredient carries a point value. Add the five values together, and that total sets the dish quality.

This is why two players can cook the same dish with completely different ingredients. There is no single correct combination.

All 10 Ingredients

Every ingredient has a type, a colour, and a point value. These three things control everything.

Quick read: The four 1 point ingredients are common. The four 2 point ones are precious. Rainbow Matter is the wildcard and the only 3 pointer.

Recipe Quality and Cook Time

Add up the points of your five ingredients. That total decides everything below.

QualityIngredient pointsBrass or BronzeSilverGold
Normal52 turns3 turns4 turns
Good6 to 74 turns5 turns6 turns
Very Good8 to 95 turns6 turns7 turns
Special10 or more6 turns7 turns8 turns

Higher quality means a rarer Pokemon, but it also takes longer to cook. Turns pass when your Pokemon return from expeditions.

Ambrosia of Legends takes one extra turn on top of these numbers.

Cooking Pots Explained

The pot matters as much as the recipe. It changes how much you spend on ingredients and how strong the Pokemon you get is.

PotIngredients neededUnlocks atStat bonusIV range
Brass (Normal)3 of eachStart00 to 10
Bronze10 of eachLevel 20++500 to 50
Silver15 of eachLevel 40++1000 to 100
Gold20 of eachLevel 70++3000 to 100

Always use the best pot you own. A Gold Pot Pokemon starts with a +300 stat bonus over the same Pokemon from a Brass Pot. That gap never closes later.

The trade-off is cost. A Gold Pot eats 20 of each ingredient per cook, so stock up before you commit.

Five Combinations That Always Work

These are the cleanest recipes in the game because they use one ingredient five times. No guesswork.

What to cookIngredientsPointsQuality
Red Stew (cheap)5 × Tiny Mushroom5Normal
Red Stew (best)5 × Big Root10Special
Blue Soda (best)5 × Icy Rock10Special
Yellow Curry (best)5 × Honey10Special
Gray Porridge (best)5 × Balm Mushroom10Special
Ambrosia of Legends5 × Mystical Shell10Special

The pattern: use five of one 1 point ingredient for a cheap version, or five of the matching 2 point ingredient for the Special version of the same dish. Red pairs with Tiny Mushroom and Big Root. Blue pairs with Bluk Berry and Icy Rock. Yellow pairs with Apricorn and Honey. Grey pairs with Fossil and Balm Mushroom.

How to Build Any Dish Yourself

Use this three step method instead of memorising combinations.

  1. Pick the dish you want from the tables above and read its ingredient hint.
  2. Fill the slots. “A whole lot” means four or five of that thing. “A lot” means about three. “A few” or “a little” means one or two.
  3. Push the points up. Swap 1 point ingredients for their 2 point partner of the same colour or type. This raises quality without changing which dish you get.

If your mix does not match any dish rule, you get Mulligan Stew instead. That is the game telling you the combination did not qualify, not a bug.

Rainbow Matter shortcut: it counts as any ingredient and carries 3 points. Two Rainbow Matter plus three precious ingredients gives you 12 points, which is deep into Special range.

Things Worth Knowing Before You Cook

  • Only basic forms appear. You will never attract an already evolved Pokemon through cooking. Evolve them yourself.
  • You can get more than one. There is a 4.3% chance of attracting 2 Pokemon from a single dish, and a 0.5% chance of 3. Decorations improve these odds.
  • Do not cook cheap dishes in a Gold Pot. You spend 20 of each ingredient for a Normal quality result. Save the good pot for Special recipes.
  • Farm precious ingredients first. Big Root, Icy Rock, Honey and Balm Mushroom are what turn an average dish into a Special one.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many recipes are there in Pokemon Quest?

There are 18 dishes in total. Four are colour based, twelve target specific Pokemon types, and two are special cases.

What is the best recipe in Pokemon Quest?

It depends on what you want. For legendary Pokemon, use Ambrosia of Legends with five Mystical Shells. For the strongest normal Pokemon, use any Special quality dish in a Gold Pot.

Why did I get Mulligan Stew instead of the dish I wanted?

Your five ingredients did not match any dish rule. Mulligan Stew is the fallback result. Check the ingredient hint again and adjust the balance.

Does the order of ingredients matter?

No. Only which five ingredients you use and how many of each.

How do I get a Special quality recipe?

Reach 10 or more total ingredient points across your five slots. The easiest route is five precious ingredients, since each is worth 2 points.

What does Rainbow Matter do?

It substitutes for any other ingredient and is worth 3 points, the highest in the game. Use it to push a recipe into Special quality.

Which pot should I use?

Always the highest one you have unlocked. Better pots give bigger stat bonuses and a wider IV range, which makes every Pokemon you catch stronger.

Final Thoughts

Once you see Pokemon Quest recipes as a point system rather than a list to memorise, the whole cooking screen makes sense.

Remember three numbers, and you are set: five slots, five points for Normal, ten points for Special. Everything else is just choosing which colour or type you want to attract.
